Waterloo Chiropractic & Myotherapy Approach.

Kieran Finnegan; your Waterloo Chiropractor & Myotherapist approach is different to most forms of therapies practiced today. He believes that during our lifetime; excessive sitting, stress, injuries, accidents and the like occur & affect our bodies by causing muscles to become dysfunctional & imbalanced, as tightness & tension accumulates it spreads around the body in order to compensate. One side of the body or a group of muscles become tighter compared to their counterparts causing poor posture which may lead to localised stress & irritation around the spine and joints.

Chiropractic is a health care profession focused on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, with a large focus on the spine through a variety of manual techniques. Chiropractic is a five-year university degree with an emphasis on chiropractic skills, anatomy, physiology & diagnosis. Chiropractic seeks to reduce pain and improve the functionality of patients through ‘adjustments’ which are regarded as safe and effective therapeutic intervention for the joints of the spine and pelvis.

Myotherapy (SLM) is a specialised form of corrective massage & bodywork that puts length, function and balance back into the muscles. The techniques in myotherapy (SLM) are designed to correct critical muscular imbalances, this is achieved by working the muscles of the whole body in a deep and comprehensive manner, with a typical session lasting an hour. The pressure is always adjusted to your needs, and the therapist moves around the body so not to over work any one area, but enough to get an effective release.

The combination of Chiropractic & Myotherapy complement each other perfectly. By first releasing and balancing your muscles prior to Chiropractic this allows for a more balanced and healthy muscular system to support the chiropractic adjustments so they ‘hold’ longer. This treatment is a wholistic muscle & spine therapy & is not offered anywhere else in Australia. Kieran look’s forward to providing the highest quality of care to the local residents of Waterloo and surrounding area’s of Zetland, Alexandria, Redfern & Surry Hills.
