My Approach

Kieran Finnegan: Waterloo Chiropractor & Myotherpaist.

The approach used here at Waterloo Chiropractic & Myotherapy is unique & not offered anywhere else in Australia. scolliosisIf you have a look at the image you can see a skeletal system that is  “out of balance”, the hip is rotated forward on the right causing a tilt and a short leg, the spine is compensating by beading in the opposite direction and shoulders are not level.  One thing that is not shown is the muscles which are essentially the main structures for holding the body up against gravity, without the muscles the skeleton would would end up in a heap on the floor.

The red area’s represent common area’s where pressure accumulates  and where pain is often felt, which usually affects the joints  & disc’s of the spine. As a chiropractor, myotherapist & sports massage therapist I find it more effective to first release and balance the muscles, especially the main postural muscles of the legs, hips, pelvis and spine prior to chiropractic adjustments to the spine. This allows for a more balanced muscular system to hold & support the chiropractic adjustments. In my experience too many conventional therapies rely on things such as stretching, core exercises and chiropractic adjustments done on there own which have little effect on these imbalances and the way the muscles hold & support the spine and pelvis. It is not a case of these therapies not being effective, as a chiropractor I have seen many people benefit from chiropractic adjustments, but when they are used on people who’s bodies who have become out of ‘out of alignment’ from chronic muscle dysfunction & imbalances there effects can be somewhat limited.

At Waterloo Chiropractic & Myotherapy you get a complete & wholistic muscle & spine therapy that does not just treat the symptoms. If you would like more information contact Waterloo Chiropractic & Myotherapy today.
